Four things that change the outcome.
Heavy furniture (wardrobes, sofas, washing machines) needs two people — add a helper. One driver can't safely lift these alone.
If you're moving more than one room of furniture, house removals is usually the better fit — faster and a smaller price difference than you'd expect.
Man-and-van pricing is time-sensitive. Have boxes packed and items ready to load when the driver arrives.
For student moves, book early around September and June. Slots in university areas fill up first.

What's the difference between man and van and house removals?
Man and van gives you a driver and one large van, with the option to add a helper. House removals gives you a driver plus 1–2 helpers as standard, designed for full-property moves. If you're moving a whole house, go with house removals. If it's a single room, a few items, or a light load, man and van is usually the better fit.
Can a man and van handle a sofa or wardrobe?
Yes, but add a helper. A sofa or wardrobe requires two people to move safely, especially through doorways or staircases. The driver alone can handle boxes and lighter items.
Do you cover student moves?
Yes. Student moves between halls, shared houses, and rental flats are common man-and-van jobs. Typical university-area bookings include Selly Oak, Edgbaston, and Aston in Birmingham, as well as student hubs in other cities.
Is same-day booking available?
Yes. Same-day slots are strongest from our Midlands base. Book before midday and mark your job as Urgent at checkout for the earliest available slot. Long-distance same-day depends on schedule.
